About Us

Hey everyone! I’m Annabel and I’m studying a Bachelor of Applied science and Master of Dietetics in Melbourne, at La Trobe Uni.

My greatest pleasure in life is food. My passion first began when I was around the age of 5. I experimented with mum in the kitchen and learned how to turn the oven on. We mostly made sweet treats, such as ‘Naughty Nana’s Chocolate cake’.  I can’t help but smile when I think about the chocolate fudge that dribbled down the sides. These memories hold a special place in my heart, as they mark the beginning of my journey into the world of food. They also mark the start of my chocolate addiction… #moderationmovement

Extending my food knowledge around the world has been a big part of my life. From sashimi in Japan, sauerbraten in Germany and Messina in Melbourne (another one of my greatest loves), you could say I like to get out and about. This is why I do what I do. l want to try everything there is to eat, learn how different foods affect the body and share my knowledge with you guys!

I’m a rock-doga-tographer (let me explain). I love to rock climb, as it’s a whole body workout and it keeps me fit. My two doggos (Bella and Lou) are the cutest! Every night they love to jump on the couch, have a little cuddle and watch a movie (Red Dog is a hit with them). I adore photography and recording special moments on my go pro. Being able to relive those moments and to share them with others, spurs me to create more and more content!

So that’s me in a nut shell! Thank you to everyone who has supported Nuts for Nutrition. The girls and I cannot thank you enough and we love you with all of our hearts <3

Hi! I’m Sarah, I’m 20 years old and am currently entering my third year of the Bachelor of Applied Science and Masters of Dietetic Practice at La Trobe University in Bundoora, Melbourne. I met Annabel and Jade in the first year of our degree, and we’ve been buddies ever since! We share a passion for all things food and health, so together we decided to create a space where we can share our nutrition knowledge and passion!

Personally one of my favourite things to do is go out for a meal with friends! I love how it brings great friends together and we can all enjoy some delicious food! Another hobby of mine is attending group fitness classes at the gym, my favourites of which include pump and RPM (spin). I am also a huge animal person, and have had a large number of pets throughout my whole life! Another thing I love to do is to take my dogs (Bailey and Jack) for a walk along the river.

Recently I’ve been loving to get creative in the kitchen and try to make some delicious snacks and meals! Growing up I never did much cooking, and my sister used to say she fears for the day I was to live on my own. The closest I got to cooking was year 7 Home Eco class or watching MasterChef or MKR from the comfort of my couch. However moving to Uni and living on campus there I had to learn how to cook for myself pretty quickly (although I must admit, not to a very complex standard). In our second semester of our first year in our course we had our first cooking class, which gave me some insight into the chemistry of food and cooking! It sparked the enjoyment I now feel when I cook, and mostly when I get to taste my creations!

Anyway, that pretty much sums me up! Hope you all enjoy what we have to share and follow us on our journey to understand the food we eat and how we can eat to maximise our health!

Sarah xx

Hi everybody I’m Jade, I am 21 years old and currently studying a Bachelor of Applied Science and Masters of Dietetic Practice at La Trobe in Melbourne with Annabel and Sarah.

I am passionate about following a healthy lifestyle including being active and eating a variety of delicious foods! Ever since I was in my early teens, cooking has always been a big passion for me. I used to adore baking and creating a variety of different desserts for my family (in fact my dream back then was to open my very own cupcake shop). Today, this passion still lives on although now I enjoy trying to put a healthy spin on classic desserts and utilise the knowledge I have gained so far in my Dietetics degree.

I also love staying fit and being active. In my gap year in 2015 I studied and completed personal training qualifications (Certificate IV in Fitness) at the Australian Institute of Personal Trainers so that I could apply knowledge and theory to my workouts too. My favourite ‘fitness’ activity is to simply hit the gym and do different muscle workouts (believe it or not legs day is my fave!) although I used to be an avid long distance runner back in my teens which I hope to start again soon. Outside of health and fitness, I love fashion (in fact my friends and family have tried to ban me from shopping…), going to the beach and simply being amongst nature. I am a country girl at heart (I grew up on a small farm in North East Victoria) and I am always trying to discover new and beautiful places to visit which are close to home, such as waterfalls, national parks and lookouts with breathtaking views.

Thank you for following us on our Nuts for Nutrition journey and I hope that you love our page as much as we do! Jade xx
